Health platform and product suite

Government

The objective of this initiative was to establish an online portal that equips healthcare professionals with design principles and human-centered design strategies through online educational resources, in-person workshops, and simulations. The platform also serves as a hub for clinicians to access and exchange educational resources, share their own materials, and expand their network.

As Product Designer for this project, I designed the brand/product identity, created all online learning and marketing collateral, and managed the hosting platform.

Branding and identity

When creating the branding and identity for this project, I centered on the concept of building and growth. As clinicians contribute their own resources and network with one another, the content on the platform will expand. To reflect this organic growth, the branding and identity features honeycombs and connecting lines, which symbolise molecular structures.

Product design and development

The next phase was to commence developing the content. Various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders were invited to provide their expertise and support with writing the material for this project. I was then responsible for building a suite of online courses and one-page resources.

Courses were built using the Articulate RISE authoring tool, with custom interactions created with HTML, CSS and JS.

One-page resources were custom designed HTML pages which incorporated UI elements from Articulate RISE, the departments own branding as well as branding elements from the product to ensure a seamless and familiar experience.

Platform design

Initially an external provider was used for the LMS hosting component. Working within the UI for the LMS, course thumbnails and banners were designed.

Preparing for launch

Improvers (end-users) were only able to access the system by invite only and were placed into teams as per their role and department. I was responsible for manually setting up the accounts, permissions and visibilities, until the Improver leads were trained in how to generate reports.

This project also underwent user testing at various stages, to ensure that content was relevant, free from errors and provided educational merit, and that the platform was intuitive.

Where you can find this project

The platform for this project has now been discontinued, however all courses that were part of this platform are freely available and can be viewed via the links below.
